iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta Features: Apple has just rolled out the latest versions of its iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 betas. The new updates, iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, bring exciting features like the Apple Intelligence-powered Clean Up tool in the Photos app, similar to Google’s Magic Eraser.
As we approach Apple’s upcoming event in early September, rumors are swirling about the latest iPhone 16 models, new Apple Watches, and possibly new AirPods. The iPhone 16 models are generating buzz, especially because they will fully support Apple Intelligence, a feature currently available only on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
For those eager to get a taste of what’s coming, Apple Intelligence has made its debut for beta testers of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. One of the standout features is the Clean Up tool in the Photos app. This AI-powered tool allows users to remove unwanted objects, shadows, or reflections from their photos, much like Google’s Magic Eraser. Whether it’s a trash can in your selfie or a car in your landscape shot, the Clean Up tool can help you perfect your images with just a tap, circle, or brush over the area.
This tool works on all photos in your library, even those taken with older iPhones, iPads, or DSLR cameras. It’s designed to handle finer details when you zoom in, making photo editing even more precise and user-friendly.
In addition to the Clean Up tool, the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas introduce new app summaries alongside Mail and Message notifications. However, features like priority notifications, image and emoji generation, and personal context for Siri are still in the works and have not yet been included in this beta release.
If you’re eager to try out these new features before the official release, you can download the beta versions of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1. Keep in mind that beta software can be buggy, so be prepared for some minor issues. You’ll need an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or an iPad with the Apple Silicon M1 chip or later to access the Apple Intelligence features.
Apple hasn’t confirmed the exact release date for the final versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, but they are expected to launch around September 16, shortly after the iPhone event. However, Apple Intelligence features may not appear in the initial release and are likely to be introduced with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 in October.
